‘All my songs come from life’: S.F. singer Essence Goldman on her most personal album
Essence and Gold Country: 7:30 p.m. Oct. 22. $26.28. Sweetwater Music Hall, 19 Corte Madera Ave., Mill Valley. sweetwatermusichall.org
Essence Goldman has long been one of the Bay Area’s most versatile musical figures whose career has carried her from Lilith Fair stages to viral NPR “Tiny Desk” performances.
This month, she returns to the spotlight with a new album and a hometown release show.
The San Francisco-born singer, songwriter and vocal coach is set to headline Sweetwater Music Hall with her band Gold Country on Oct. 22, marking the release of “Father’s Daughter.” The collection, recorded near her Marin County home, is rooted in Appalachian Americana and country traditions but turns squarely on her own life, exploring themes of love, loss and resilience.
